Jaime Tellez just got his driver’s license. It’s a big deal for any 17 years old, but for Jaime it is also a miracle.
Cataracts threatened to blind Jaime at the age of three but two surgeries corrected that problem. Sadly, eye infections in both eyes threatened his sight again. In March of 2008, at the age of seven, Jaime received the first of two cornea transplants from the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank that restored his sight.

Back then Jaime was in first grade and he asked that his family and friends donate to the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank instead of giving him gifts for his birthday.
Today — 10 years later — Jaime has had his donated corneas longer than he had the corneas he was born with! Thanks to the families who donated their loved one’s corneas and the work of the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, Jaime can still see and even drive.

And he is still asking others to support the work of the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank.
Join Jaime and make a contribution today to support the eye bank’s mission of helping others overcome blindness through transplantation and research.  We are asking each Lion to give $20 or more to help support our sight-saving mission.
