Dr. Kashif J. Piracha, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF

Guest speaker at the Tomball Lions Club regular member’s meeting on July 15 will be Dr. Kashif J. Piracha, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF.  Dr. Piracha is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  His topic will be, “Living with Chronic Illness”.

The disease burden of chronic illnesses has greatly increased over the last few years. Hypertension, diabetes, obesity and hyperlipidemia are big social problems that need to be addressed. In his talk, Dr. Piracha will speak about the dietary modifications that can be employed to help this issue. We will look at strategies to reduce salt intake, achieve better glucose control and how to differentiate good lipids from bad lipids. And to cap it all, he will give you a sample diet plan that you can start using immediately on a road to a healthier and happier you.
