Casas de Luz/North County LGBTQ Resource Center Collaboration

Casas de Luz mission is to transform individuals, families, and communities on both sides of the San Diego/ Tijuana border and create long lasting, self-sustaining change through youth empowerment, cross cultural relationships, leadership development, home and community development, and environmental sustainability.

Casas de Luz is currently the most cost-effective organization building homes in Tijuana. By using in-kind donations for some of our building materials as well as furnishings, they are able to keep the costs low.

Born and raised in North San Diego County, Lisa attended Palomar Community College and then earned her BA at California State University San Marcos (first in her family). Her work in nonprofit social justice, housing, substance use prevention, animal services, case management, elder/hospice care, and public health education spans nearly 25 years, since 1998.

Lisa’s volunteer work includes serving on the executive committee for Casas de Luz; as Co-Chair for North County World AIDS Day; and as Board Vice President and Development Committee Chair at Fraternity House, Inc.
