Jim Kennedy, Development Officer, Father Joe’s Villages

Jim is a native San Diegan who grew up in the Mission Hills neighborhood.  He earned a BA in Theology and Philosophy from Saint Martin’s University, afterwhich entered St. Francis Seminary at USD for one year studying History, Latin and Economics.  He then earned a MA .Div. in Theology and M.A. in Dogmatic Theology from St. John’s University and was ordained a priest. After 4 years of parish ministry and teaching Jim decided to leave priesthood and moved into the private sector where he worked in public relations, communications and marketing. Jim continued his dedication and service to the poor through his parish outreach group. In 2017, Jim joined Father Joe’s Villages in the role of Development Officer, where he works with donors, civic and faith communities in their support of those experiencing homelessness.
