The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility is located at 130 Beyer Way in Chula Vista. The shelter houses animals from Chula Vista, Lemon Grove and National City.  The Animal Control Services include the jurisdiction of Chula Vista and Lemon Grove for stray and nuisance animal pick-up, acceptance of lost and relinquished animals, assistance for injured and sick stray animals, quarantine control, vicious or threatening animals, barking dog complaints, animal cruelty, fighting animals, lost and found assistance and dog licensing.

The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility is one of the few shelters in San Diego County that offer no cost and low spay neutering to the public.

But of course they also have many wonderful animals that need homes. And not just cats and dogs. If it is domesticated there is chance they may come through their doors.

BIO:

Linda Septon is the Adoption Counselor at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility since 2006. Besides managing offsite adoption centers and events she works with private shelters and rescue organizations in the placement of homeless animals. Her other duties include volunteer coordination and training, social and public media that includes weekly video podcasts, and featured pets on T.V. and radio. And as the job descriptions says “other duties as assigned”.

Linda was with the San Diego Humane Society for a brief period but really got into the animal sheltering field when she started with the San Diego County Animal Services in September of 1995 during that time she used her Veterinary Assistant certificate and worked part time in the private veterinary field.

Unbelievable to some her degree in merchandise Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising has come in very handy in finding placement for thousands of animals.

Her goal is to make the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility The place to go when people are ready to add a furry member to their family.

Mandy Mills has been the Administrator of the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility for 2 ½ years. She has been with the City of Chula Vista for over 13 years. Most of that time she served as the Housing Manager, overseeing affordable housing programs and policies for the City. She also served as the Performance and Organizational Development Manager, working on citywide initiatives such as the City’s Strategic Plan, Continuous Improvement, and the City’s Asset Management Program.  Mandy enjoys the challenge working at the City’s animal shelter because she can utilize her administrative experience for a very worthy cause. She currently has 1 dog and 1 cat, both adopted from CVACF of course!
