The Berkeley Height Rotary Club was asked to pitch in at the recent Police-Firefighter Charity Softball Game. We decided the best thing we could do was keep fans and players well-fed, hydrated, and happy. We set up our tent and served hot dogs, pizza and soft drinks, requesting only donations as the crowd saw fit. After the game, we fed the players from both brave teams free, as a way to say Thanks! The result--nearly $500 in contributions by the several hundred fans that day, plus our own donations (Rotary servers contributed, too)! All collected funds went straight to the Memorial Park Restoration Committee.
