Berkeley Heights Rotary's guest speaker on June 11th was Dr. Mitchell Erickson, Science Advisor with the Science & Technology Directorate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  A chemist by education, with a career in environmental science and analytic chemistry, Dr. Erickson has served with the DHS for over a decade. He is the author of two authoritative books and over 150 technical publications.  He spoke to Rotary Club members and guests in the five missions of the DHS: Preventing terrorism and enhancing security, securing and managing our borders, administering and enforcing immigration laws, securing and safeguarding cyberspace, and--one of his specialties--ensuring our that country's physical and electronic infrastructure is resilient to disasters.
