Swampscott Police Overdose Response Team

This past week, at our Wednesday noon meeting the Swampscott Rotary Club heard a presentation by officers Rose Cheever and Brendan Reen from the Swampscott Police Department about their Overdose Response Team and their Outreach Program.

Due to the growing problem of drug and opioid abuse, more accidental overdoses are occurring in and around Swampscott. The Swampscott police have responded to this crisis with changing responses and tactics, aimed toward helping individuals deal with and overcoming their addictions.

Also attending our meeting was Swampscott police Chief Ron Madigan and Lynn police Chief Kevin Coppinger.
