Joyce McCarriston-Raymond Honored by Rotary

The Swampscott Rotary Club honored Ms. Joyce McCarriston Raymond by making her a Paul Harris Fellow at our annual installation meeting at the Nahant Country Club. This award is named for Rotary's founder, Paul Harris.

Joyce and her family founded one of our our Rotary Scholarships, the McCarriston Trade Scholarship, several years ago. Joyce and Peter's father, Mr. James McCarriston, was a Swampscott Rotarian for many years and was still an active member when Peter joined Swampscott Rotary in 1974.

This scholarship is available to anyone up to the age of 28 who resides in Swampscott and surrounding communities for assistance in study and certification in the trades such as electrical, plumbing and others. Over the past few years we have awarded many scholarships, both large and small, to north shore residents.
