Hillsboro Independence Day Parade

Since 1926, the Hillsboro Rotry Club has sponsored the annual 4th of July parade. This parade is one of the largets parades in Oregon, coming in second to Rose Festival's Grand Floral Parade.  The event, which annually draws an estimated 25,000 people lining the parade route, again offers entertainment and fun for the whole family.  The parade is set to being at 10:00am with playing of the national Anthem an the raising of a U.S. Flag on the high-rise ladder of a fire truck at the corner of Second and Main.

Royal Rosarians are invited to the homre of Gene and Sue Horton 434 NE Birchwood Drive, Hillsboro for coffee before the parade and a pot luck BBQ after the parade. Arrive before 8:30am to park along Birchwood Drive before the Hillsboros police start closing the roads for pre-parade and parade activities.

Please sign up for the Parade and the 4th of July Purely Social (Coffee and BBQ) separately, so we know how many to expect for both events.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be provided for the BBQ. Please bring a Dessert (last names A-L) or a Salad (last names M-Z) to share 

The Horton's home is located inside the circle of the parade route, so if you park on Birchwood, you will not be able to leave before 12:30pm. If you need to leave right after the parade, park on NE Delsey Road or the streets just off of Delsey. This area is near the start and finish of the parade, with a relatively easy exit from Hillsboro.

Directions from Portland:

Take Hwy 26 to exit 59-Jackson Schools Road. Turn left on to Jackson School Road and travel for 2.2 miles. Turn right onto Evergreen Road and travel for 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Jackson School Road and travel 1.5 miles.  Bear left onto 5th Avenue, then immediately turn left onto NE Grant Street and travel for .02 mile.  Turn right onto Birchwood Drive and travel 0.1 mile to arrive at 434 NE Birchwood Drive
