This year, we are proud to announce that Hosting by Starlight will back at this beautiful venue offering a spacious gathering area with plenty of space, lots of seating, a big screen for watching the parade and some tasty catered post-parade snacks for hungry marchers starting at 9:30 pm.  The bar opens at 9:00 pm.  There will be assorted beers and wines, as well as a "Starlight Garden Cocktail".  Let's celebrate!

Our event will take place in the Nortonia Ballroom of the Mark Spencer Hotel, which enjoys being one of the original hotels in Portland, complete with a rooftop garden. The garden is long gone, but the owners envision creating one at a future date.  This beautiful boutique hotel offers wonderful accommodations.  Rosarians wishing to stay at the hotel are offered a 15% discount. King rooms right now are $269.00, our group can book the rooms for $228.65 for Saturday night.  Rates are subject to change.There are several nearby parking lots, including the underground parking lot at Jakes Restaurant on the back side of the hotel block.  The Hotel Deluxe parking lot is still available for anyone wishing to park there the evening of the parade.  The MAX and streetcar lines are convenient to the hotel.  Street parking in this area is prohibited from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.

The hotel ballroom will be open beginning at 4:30 pm.   Admission is free for members, spouses/partners and widows/widowers.  Additional guests are $5.00 each.  Payment will be made at the registration table.  There will be big screen coverage of the parade beginning at 9:00 pm and some Rosarians are going to watch the parade at the corner of SW 11th Avenue and Washington Street near the hotel entrance.

The ballroom has plenty of room for drums and banners.  You are welcome to leave belongings in the room during the parade, but you will want to clearly mark them and understand that no one is guarding them.  The hotel staff will be present and there will probably be Rosarians and spouses in the room during this time period.  The changing setup is the same as at the Hotel deLuxe.

The ballroom is on the lower level of the hotel and can be accessed at the entrance by going down the stairs or by going into the hotel and taking the elevator.  There is also a second entrance to the hotel just south of the main entrance offering a very accessible way to get to the ballroom.  There are no stairs.  Take the elevator down to the main level.  The side opens to let you out so you can go past the front desk and take the main elevator to the ballroom.
