Dragon Boat Eye Dotting Ceremony

Please join Prime Minister Adam Baker as he and other VIP’s welcome in the start of the Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat racing season by awaking the sleeping dragons.  The dragon boats have been asleep since the end of last year’s race and will be awakened by having new eyes painted on.

The Royal Rosarians have been asked by the Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association to participate once again in this annual event.

The Royal Rosarians will form an honor guard for the blessing of the fleet where the Prime Minister will speak and then join the processional down to the docks where the eyes will be painted on the dragons. 

The ceremony takes place on the river side of the Riverplace Maria Hotel starting at noon on March 31^st.  Come early to park and join in the excitement.

Dress is full parade whites, with capes, hats, gloves and white uniform pants.
