At a recent club meeting, the Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club presented a check to John Mendoza who visited our meeting as a representative from the Community Clothes Closet. Our donation will help continue the mission of the Fox Valley non-profit. One of our longstanding service project partnerships, the Community Clothes Closet distributes over 25,000 items of clothing each month to needy families in the area.

The Community Clothes Closet seeks to fulfill its mission of providing free clothing to people in need. They utilize volunteers to staff their operations and assist with administration.

The Community Clothes Closet has been serving disadvantaged families since 1980. Since that beginning, the volunteers of the Community Clothes Closet, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, have been collecting and distributing clothing, blankets, towels and household items to people in need, who are referred by other human service agencies such as the Emergency Shelters, Red Cross, St. Joseph's Food Program, Domestic Abuse Shelters, County Services, Schools, Churches, and others.

The recipients are able to meet their clothing needs while using their limited income to meet other primary necessities such as food and shelter.
