We have mentioned that the Kiwanis Mid Year Conferences are coming up. There are three locations/dates in the division to choose from. The cost of registration is covered by our club and will be reimbursed after you attend. Only $20 - $25 depending on the location you choose and it covers morning snack and lunch. If you have never gone before, it would be a great chance to learn about what we are all about and hear from other clubs what they are doing. If you have gone before, it is a wonderful opportunity to learn about best practices that can help our club become more successful. Club officers and board members are encouraged to attend and participate in the Club Leadership Education sessions. I have attached the Registration Form and Information Overview. Once we know who is going, car pool arrangements can be made.
Thanks for helping to make this a great year so far. Respectfully, Renee Registration Fee includes coffee, snacks and lunch. See the registration form for fee. Form can be completed, saved and attached to an email or faxed or mailed to the District office. See registration form for details.

Volunteers should arrive at approximately 6:30pm as the flight is scheduled to return at 8:20pm. Kiwanians will be lining up directly after the military line. We will meet inside the terminal before the security check point. Directions will follow from there. The volunteers from Old Glory are very appreciative of our participation. Apr. 23, 2016 6:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money raise supports programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. March of Dimes has been walking since 1970 and have raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies.
Our club will be once again supporting the annual walk. Volunteers are needed to help with the grilling/preparation, serving, and clean-up of the food for walkers. Come for some or all of the morning. Please click on the link below to sign up for one of our volunteer opportunities: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/805094BAAAB2C7-2016 When choosing a sign-up option, click "I don't want an account. No need to be a gourmet cook! We help prep sandwiches, cut dessert bars and organize a few things between 10 and noon. Then we serve food as people come through the line. When we’re done, we get lunch and then wipe down tables and chairs. This is a lot of fun, so please join in if you can. No children allowed in kitchen. No flip-flops or open toed shoes allowed. And, they need to know in advance how many people are signed up, so they’ve asked that no last-minute additional people participate. When you arrive, you’ll be asked to sign a brief form regarding confidentiality guidelines.

Highway Clean-up is a good project for members who want to do service work but have limited time. Usually we can complete our highway clean-up projects in about an hour if we have sufficient help.
We will meet for optional breakfast at 7:15am at Galvan’s on OO and then go to the clean-up site or you can meet us at the clean-up site at 8:00am at JJ & Mayflower Drive.
This is a good way to get to know your fellow Kiwanian, get a little exercise, and complete a service project all in about 1 hour. Sign-up and join us. |
