Archaeologist Dr Reuben Grima: 'Gian Francesco Abela and his cabinet of antiquities'.  Gian Francesco Abela (1582–1655) was a Maltese historian and collector of antique objects.  He wrote an important book, "A description of Malta, island in the Sicilian sea, with its antiquities, and other information".
